Anglo MNA aims to make free French language training a right for all Quebecers

Free French Lessons Proposed for All Quebecers

Greg Kelley, a Liberal Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Quebec, has introduced a bill to amend the province’s Charter of the French Language to guarantee free French language instruction for all residents. Kelley views this initiative as an opportunity to unite Quebecers from diverse backgrounds including Anglophones, immigrants, workers seeking new skills and seniors by improving access to French language education.

He believes that making French training a legal right will foster greater inclusion and strengthen the role of the French language across the province. Although the bill is still pending approval and may face challenges, Kelley hopes it will establish a positive new right that benefits every Quebecer and supports a more inclusive society.
