Community Voices Drive Dialogue on Rights and Services
On April 4 at Little Red Wagon Winery, Pontiac MNA André Fortin engaged with local residents, business proprietors, and municipal leaders to talk about healthcare access, road signage, trade obstacles, and language rights. Fortin stressed the significance of citizen advocacy and pointed out the Quebec Court of Appeal’s recent ruling that supports the constitutional rights of English school boards.
The gathering also presented Chad Bean as the new head of RAWQ, with departing president David Gillespie unveiling a significant rise in funding to bolster initiatives, such as the reintroduction of community French-language classes and forthcoming bilingual gatherings.
